wsu that is about my same contact ratio as well. 100-125 is about all i can stand in a day. My question was directed to Nathan just to see if his contact ratio was bad or if it is just getting the numbers.

Considering I really have nothing else to do right now but knock like a Jehovah...500 may be a stretch but here is the usual schedule...10-12 knock knock..lunch and cool off...1-3 beg for phone numbers..cool off....4ish-6ish drag my weary arse around the streets and force myself to smile...Next week I am going to mix in biz knocking from 8 to 10-12.  That should be more effeicient and easier to get numbers.  Lots of people not home and lots of rejection.  Just got to keep plugging...the more i get slammed the more I am finding where to set up my rebuttal to bring the defenses down.

a solid day like that will yield 40 first contacts roughly.  The x factor is getting phone numbers.  My ratio sucks right now but I get better with every go around.  I know I need to be more efficient as I go but I guess FF is designed to have you fall on your face to figure out how to hit your groove.

it sounds like you might be wearing yourself out before the prime time.  Make sure you're fresh from 4-7, because that's where 90% of your contacts in FF will come from....or should, if you want to be efficient.

One thing that I noticed while out knocking was that if I could get the person qualified, i.e. money due or has an advisor, but couldn't for some reason get a number, I would just do a reverse search and get it that way. I would call them back later and act like they gave me the number. No one ever asked me how I got their number. Now I don't recommend you do that with everyone you meet, because some may not be qualifed and you will be wasting your time. Bottom line is I have noticed people that feel comfortable enough to talk about their money, but have some sort of hang up about giving out their number. Just assume they won't mind you calling and go for it.

Do you do that, "don't look up at them, just keep your eyes on your notepad/tablet, and say, "and Mr. Jones, your phone number is.......?"

Don't flinch, don't look up, and they'll usually just give it to you, right?

I've done that in the teacher's lounge a few times.  Worked well.

I have been mastering the mind trick...hit or miss...seems like the folks Im calling on are aware of what im trying to do.  These people have ALOT of people knocking on their doors.  I wont even go in there on Saturday because i would be part of a caravan of doorknockers

I guess some people do the reverse address look up and match to the NOCALL but I would really prefer not to get fired at this point.  I just need to get better at positioning why i need their number

Ms. Broker and Nathan Explosion, thanks for sharing your experiences in starting out. I start Study for Success on Oct. 15th and threads like this one on this forum is very enlightening.
