This morning I had my first client referral to result in a sale, and it was to the tune of 450k, so I am incredibly pumped about that one.

I'm still using a nice mix of doorknocking and cold calling. I'm starting to doorknock more because the weather is so nice right now. I've got a pretty decent pipeline now for the next couple of months, so that's a huge positive. I'm hoping I make seg 2 in the minimum amount of time, and I have a damn good shot at it with this deal today. :)

Congrats on the 450k referral...

But, you want to know what is really funny.
I have no idea what the f**k you are talking about.

Can anyone help me:
Field Foundations?
Post-PDP?
seg 2?

Field Foundations is the 7 week period between our door-knocking training and Eval/Grad. We prospect every day for that period of time and cannot sell investments. We are just gathering names and numbers. Eval Grad (not PDP, sorry, screw up on my original post) is when we get our wings. When we are allowed to sell. Then we come back about 5 months later for PDP. I'm one month post-pdp now.

We have segments. Once you hit your pdp qualification (17 weeks) out you move to seg 1. Then when your four month rolling average is 8k+ you make Segment 2. You have to be in Seg 1 for four months. . Not that many new/news hit seg 2 in the shortest time (4 months) so I'm going to be pretty damn excited when I do. :)

I'm sure you probably didn't actually care about all that, but I'm kind of OCD like that, and if you ask, I'm gonna answer.

Congrats Ms, those are tremendous accomplishments. Seg 2 in 4 months is a rare feat without blowing someone or having wealthy parents (I'm assuming you didn't blow anybody).

Go buy a new dress or whatever you do, enjoy your success for a couple days, then get your head back down. Seg 2 is nice, but still nothing (so is seg 3, and 4 for that matter). You can rest at 5 Wink

True story :)

I have another appt on Tuesday for over half a million. If I land that one also, then I will definitely put some into advisory. (And still make seg 2 in 4 months :-P)

Sorry, Chief, but yes, they were the result of doorknocking. This one today was a referral from an account I opened from doorknocking. The referrer was about a $200k account themselves. The other was a straight doorknock.

Midwest in a metro area with a whole hell of a lot of competition.

The one on Tuesday was pretty lucky. He is personal friends with a Jones GP so the name recognition was a big thing with him.

The one yesterday just wasn't getting service.

I always wonder about door knocking.....  Wonder how well it works in NJ.

Now are you going residential or commercial?

btw, congrats on your success.

Former Amp P1 & UBS, Now RIA and couldn't be happier.

As an exjoneser... a friend of mine and i sat down the other day and were discussing the fall of edj in our area(lost 8 new guys in the last 3 years, same 2 towns, lack of production, but there is a guy who is doing about $600K in that same area) and our thought was he built his business before any competition moved in(no major banks until 3 years ago, and the local ones didn't do investments and the nearest wirehouse is a 25 minute drive)... Our theory was that jones works well just outside the metro areas and in the south where people are more laid back..

Glad to have you GB, thanks for joining!  If you know anyone else that could benefit by joining us, please help us to spread the word.

By the way, we aren't encouraging people to stop posting on RR Mag's site.  We are hoping both sites can co-exist.

Here in the DFW metroplex we have Jones offices on damn near every corner it seems. They must do ok in Metro Areas as well.
