Please Answer SN's question...

How much does your hotness help you get new business?

It wasn't a help at all the first few years. People wouldn't take me seriously. I started at 25, and looked maybe 18. Doorknocking was difficult at best. I had to reach out to veteran women advisors for best practices on all the crap women deal with that men don't.

Now it's easier, and I wouldn't be surprised if much of my new business is as least partly influenced by my appearance.

At least this chick realizes how much her appearance helps her. When we had a hot assistant, all of our older male clients always asked about her and were eager to sign anything she put in front of them. I also noticed their eyes gazing at her ass as she walked them back to conference room.

You have to accept it and use it to your advantage Ashley.

I market to professional women in my area - I'm in a wealthier suburb of a major metro. You can trip over $500,000 rollovers all day here. Especially early on, I found women easier to work with and develop a business relationship. Men were very eager to talk, but slow to do business if they did anything at all. So I don't proactively go after men, unless I've been introduced by a referral or networking group or my CPA/estate lawyer, that kind of thing. The problem I ran into was the wife would freak out on me when I'd call or F2F the house when prospecting them. So I've basically given up chasing men as clients for that reason.

I really do try to not leverage sex or appearance when prospecting. I think it's selling out and it'll eventually come back to destroy me.

Well done, Scooby.  If I were you I would try to go by Scooby.  This is a good way to respond.  Clearly you have thick skin, which has helped you in your business.

Windy's new name is "Calm Like a Bomb".  So if you want to look at his business building techniques, that is how you would search.

This should probably be the end of the thread. Start a new thread with questions about how CLAB has achieved the level of success that you aspire to.

Linkedin is a great place to find potential clients. You can get notified about if clients have new jobs and rollover their 401ks.

I'm raising my niece, and she says I look like the host from Make Way for Noddy. My BOA said she can see the resemblance. I don't.

After reviewing a few of the threads on here I could find, I'll shelf the idea about social media for now.

I wouldn't table it at all. Social Media is powerful stuff. I wouldn't take any advice from anyone here though. They all still use ads like it was a newspaper.

I receive routine calls and have picked up great clients from ads - church bulletins, place mats at local restaurants, country club guides, real estate welcome wagon booklets. I still run an ad in the church bulletins and country club guides.

I'm on social media, but I have had issues with being stalked on my personal Facebook page, which is undiscoverable now. My LinkedIn contacts are mostly sales professionals and whoever sends out random requests. I haven't controlled the contacts quality and rebuilding it from scratch would be a real hassle. I sense value in seeking rollovers from job changers, but I pick those up from referrals anyway.

We would all love to hear the story of you being stalked on your facebook page.. Was it by a client, an ex, someone else?

Who are you? How would you feel if every time you turned your back on your drink at the bar, you felt you needed to dump it and order a new one because you were afraid someone might drug it? How would you feel if every time you walked to your car at night, you watched the shadows in the bushes because you've been stalked or attacked? Have you ever been so afraid for your life that the idea of leaving the house was paralyzing?

You are what's wrong with the world. Don't ever address me on here ever again.

And I was just starting to think you might stick around

I hope she does stick around, otherwise she lets him win and dominate her... and not in a way that she might "enjoy".
