Hi All, new member from FL.  I work in another industry, but am planning on taking the SIE and join a FA team in hopes of buying the book from a retiring adviser in the next 5-10 years.

This again? You do know there are three times as many inheritors of books than there are actual retiring advisors, right?

Lesson #1. Advisors with big books don't retire. They go on vacation with their wife, get hit by a bus and then the branch manager pieces out the assets to remaining assets to people in the branch while wifey and the estate get paid for two years.
