In order to get access to the rest of the board, please make an introductory post about yourself.  You can leave out specifics, but we encourage you to at least state whether you are in the industry (licensed or unlicensed) and what type of firm that you work for (this will determine your access to certain parts of the board).

I am in the industry with Edward Jones, hold the AAMS and CFP, and have a can sell from 2013. I started in the FACD program out of college. I have $80 million AUC and am PML 7.

I read the terms of service and rules, and agree to abide by them and contribute.

haha, welcome.
My posts are for abrasive entertainment only. Nothing posted is investment, legal, tax or any type of advice, nor is anything mentioned true or even based on real events. Posts are complete fiction.

WTF is AUC? And what is the AAMS?  And what in Spaceman Spiff's magic sky wizard's name is FACD?

In penny’s world, we’ve gayed up many of the terms. I just want to know his “can serve” 🤦‍♂️

Did I do something wrong? I thought I followed the instructions properly.

AUC is our assets in the branch. AAMS is basically part of the CFP. FACD is the Financial Advisor Career Development program,  for new advisors coming in with no career or professional experience. We get more training than transfer advisors and mid-career professionals coming into the company.

No, I was just fucking with you. Other than FACD, I know what all of that was. I find it amusing that Jones uses AUC as if it is somehow better than AUM.

It just denotes the fact that Jones advisors don't actually manage the assets.

After an hour on the forums my mind is at bandwidth capacity.

I have a trainee who said she looked on here. Since I'm the region growth leader, it made sense to come here and look around.

Don't take offense. This is a place people use to blow off steam and have a bit of fun.  I'm sure you have a lot of value to add here. As Ron said, $80MM in 7 years is pretty impressive, especially for a scratch starter.

I think it's the same deal if you manage 401K money or funds in a fee-only VA. You can't include them in AUM (as far as I know). I might be wrong though. Wet_Blankey could chime in here.

My apologies in advance for the pollution that is about to come into your mind from this place. Sometimes the truth can hurt.

WRONG, but not 100% wrong.

3(38) on 401k - Yes (note CT is bizarre and count 3(21) as well.

I promise as a GL I won't evangelize.

But you all are too much. :)

I received a $10 million Goodknight, and grew from there. But I'm still a small office compared to the veterans in my region. We have a lot of $150-$200 million offices. In my town I'm it. I have no competition. The nearest wirehouse office is almost a half hour away.
