Hello all, I am a newly licensed advisor out of the DFW metroplex. I've been in production for about 3 months now at a large firm, and am looking for ways to make my client acquisition more efficient.

Have spent most of my time calling and dripping on the small natural network I had coming in but have watched my pipeline shrink since I've started. I've done some cold calling and cold walking but not at all consistent enough to make an impact.  Trying to figure out which one to pour my time into.

I know my daily contacts have to grow and want to avoid wasting time on suspects that will never turn to prospects... any advice is much appreciated.

Timeblock right now. Maybe 1-2 appts a day and an hour a day for admin although that could be in the evening. That leaves two 2-hour blocks min -1 for cold calling and one for knocking. Protect those prospecting times like you would protect an appt with a huge clients. There’s nothing “efficient” about this stage. You are all over the place as fast as you can building a pipeline. Not sure of a magic number, but I’d think 200-300 people that you can pick up the phone and call later is a good start. When those appt slots are full on a weekly basis, then adjust and that’s the time to think about efficiency.

Natural network is some bullshit no matter where you are, especially at a “big firm.”   You bring your friends and family, the pipeline dries up or never developed at all. You fail and they are stuck with a senior dude at your firm. On top of that, he’s a prick and never even returns their call

Don’t wast your time on your natural network. They know you just started and likely won’t do business with you for awhile.
