Hey Everyone,

I came across this forum today and ended up reading for a while.  I read some good things and decided I'd register.  I've been in the industry for 10 years now and an advisor for 8.  I work for Ameriprise and recently moved locations to purchase a practice.  For designations I have my CFP, CRPC, APMA, and CLTC.  My main challenge is building my network in a city where I knew very few people.  The practice I took over has an average age that is frighteningly old and I need to change that as outflows are high!

I look forward to contributing where I can and hopefully learning a lot along the way.

The practice I took over has been a transition over time.  I first moved 5 years ago and have really farmed the existing clients outside accounts and worked referrals to grow over that period of time.  I also focus a lot on generational wealth planning strategies which has helped to meet the children and establish relationships with them.  I started here with about $50M AUM that I've grown to about $80M with 265 total client groups and am on pace to produce about $650k GDC this year.  I feel like I've about exhausted bringing in new assets by farming and I need to find better ways to meet more new people.  I feel that's my weakness.  I do a few client appreciation events throughout the year depending on the season (and COVID recently) as well.
