I am currently working as a wholsaler in the Financial Services business.  I have been working with Financial Advisors on the distribution side for over 10 years.  I have made a lot of contacts in that time in a number of different  firm types ( Bank, BD, Wire, Indy, Brokerage, Etc.) and I am looking to get on the other side of the desk.  I understand the challenges and long term potential.  I am looking for some good insight from experienced and new folks in the forums.  I am FINRA licensed.

Welcome to the board.  Given your background, I'd be interested to hear how FAs could make the best use of wholesalers.  Feel welcome to share stories of the biggest 'tools' you ran across....I'm sure you've encountered a few!

Thanks good to be here.  Biggest thing we run across is that FAs feel we are wasting their time or just pushing product...some wholesalers are and I wouldnt waste my time with them either....but the Product carriers spend ALOT of money developing ideas, products and concepts to essentially make FAs more productive and successful.  I always make sure I am super sensitive to an FAs time...you give me an hour, Ill take 45 at the most.  If we use the full hour that is because you are interested or we are discussing a particular segment of your book.  The other thing is dealing with assistants. I always felt that a good conversation with a really tuned in assistant is as good as the FA.  It is about relationships and building trust in my opinion.  Assistants are very good firewalls and maybe for good reason to protect the FAs time.   I will be very interested to see it from the other side.
