I'm an FA with an independent firm in San Diego. I've been in the business for 6 months and am always looking for suggestions on how to build by business. I offer my clients full service financial planning and I hold the series 6, 63 and Life insurance licenses.

Welcome. San Diego, wonderful place. Truly one of the top places to live in the world. I hope to visit there pretty soon.

How do you offer "full service financial planning" without a Series 7 or a Series 65/66? So full service, as long as clients don't want investment advice, or individual securities, yes?

Financial planning has nothing to do with a securities license. Last I checked, there are no requirements whatsoever to hold yourself out as a financial planner. |

Ice, doesn't managed money or asset allocation funds provide instant financial planning? Many firms even have software that asks questions, then tells you EXACTLY which product to buy? These mechanisms are designed by "experts", and have ibbotson and morningstars highest ratings.

Right. But how are you selling managed money without a S65 or S66? And if the program directs you to buy an ETF, or a stock, or a bond, instead of a fund or annuity, how do you do it without a S7?
This was a gentle nudge saying, "GET THE S7 AND S66!!!!!!!!!
