That would be true if you were speaking about a 6 year old.  I think the young man in the thread is at least 22 and I would guess has graduated a 4 year college based on his work experience and being at ML.

Wrong.  The intelligence curve begins to flatten with age, controlling for education.  That doesn't mean that there are no measurable gains in adulthood.  Nor does it mean that particular interventions won't work.
