I would think if you wanted to be a financial advisors the bank path would be just as favorable down the road + 50% more income right meow? You could max you 401k off the pay differential alone. I Can't believe you haven't jumped on it yet.

Bank = Job security
Edge = no job security both paths can get you to a Bank FA position if thats where you want to go, but starting in the bank will be an easier path with less risk and higher pay it sounds like.

also Merrill edge will still be hiring like crazy a year or two from now if the bank hasnt given you the oppty to get licensed yet.

^This! Or consider the Bank of America Financial Solutions Advisor Field based route. He/She will be working in a bank and it s more job security.

Agreed. Working as a banking center manager at a bank is the worst job you can have. It is probably the hardest job you will ever have at the bank. Yes go for the FSA in the bank not the call center, yes its hard, but only if your lazy and don't work with your partners. For gosh' sakes your getting feed your leads!
