I've been busy in this world of money since 1984.  Well 1981 if you count the several years as a commodity broker (fun fun).

Times have changed and sometimes I am not sure if it is for the better.  From NADA to now FINRA to the DOL the rules just keep coming and changing.  Yet -- - there is and always will be the B. Madoffs and the incredible world of derivatives.

Getting close to retirement and can't say I will miss where things are headed.  Plus I can't run with the young and hungry anymore.   There was a time you built your business and then spent time managing.  Now there is an "advisor"  yes in quotes around every corner that is young and hungry.  I find the current way of selling is fear.  You can sell benefits or you can sell fear.   Fear is winning.

If you want to sell your book, this would be a good place to market it I am sure.
Congratulations on your career!

urdrwho10, (what kind of screen name is that), welcome to the forum. And ignore these idiots, I'm far from an Octogenarian (sp?). They just resent me because I'm the resident babysitter here.
But i AM a few years, probably 5 at most, away from retiring. Unlike you though, only in the biz 17 years

Have you thought about ditching the rotary and investing in one of those new-fangled cell phones? You would be surprised how much life will be easier.
