Subject: How to Respond to Common Objections

I've had decent success knocking doors!
I hear the common objections like: " I've got an advisor"
Do you use a rebuttal? Do you just move on?

The other objection "Do you have a card"
Do you use a rebuttal? Do you just move on?
I just want to maximize my efforts!
Thanks

"Oh you have an advisor.  Have you reviewed your financial  plan and are you still on track after last years market losses?"

"I do, but I only give them out to people who have sincere interest in planning for their retirement"

They will likely give you some sort of reassurance that they're seriously going to call (which they won't).

"Since you're seriously interested, what is your phone number number, so I can follow up?"

If they hesitate, then don't waste any further time.

If a woman answers the door... "is the man of the house home?"

Do you have an advisor?

Oh that's great, who helps you out now? They almost always answer that.  Then ask another question.

don't even try to sell them, just keep knocking on the next door.  Eventually you will knock on someone just got an inheritance, retires, lost job like that day.  Those are the people who will talk to you.  Your not convincing someone to switch advisors on a cold approach that quick.  Those people take their name and number and drip on them monthly snail mail and call 3x a year to check up on them.

Skrait from Bartow… “How much of your portfolio is allocated to rising income?”

Straight from some dude I know “has your advisor called you about how to position your portfolio for this year? There are some tactical strategies that I’m doing for all my clients.”

I tended to suck at dork knocking LOL

"It's great that you have an Advisor!  Do you like them enough to recommend them to your friends and family?  If so, what are you most pleased with?  May I ask what firm they are with?"  Also, "you know what I do, and you're taken care of.  Who do you think I should introduce myself to on this street?"

I was always happy to find someone with an advisor; assuming they have money.  But that's not always correct.  If you learn the firm, you get a better idea.  (You probably know this, but if they're with your firm, compliment them and move on!)

You may uncover "pain" if they don't refer or can't come up with what they're most pleased about.  I've been able to turn many of those folks into clients.  If they're a raving fan, I at least learned what t do to be a good FA, but I only had one become a client.

Of all the "you know what I do, I almost always got a "go talk to them; they need help."  I once received a "you should talk to ... oh, wait. I should refer them to my advisor!"

I can feel the tension in that convo from here

I was just more “what’s your advisor saying about _____?”  At least I’m being honest about my passive aggressive questions LOL
