Yippiekiayyy.  I registered.  I logged in.  I can't do $#!t.
Why did I register?  What does that do for me?
***********************************************************************
The following was copy/pasted from FAQs...

Do I need to register? You may not need to register to post in the Forums, it is up to the Forums Administrator as to whether they allow you to post in the Forums as an unregistered user. However, by registering you will be able to use additional features. It only takes a few minutes to register, so it is recommended that you do so.

Why can I not view a forum? Some forums are setup to allow only certain users or groups of users to access them. To view, read, post, etc. in a forum you may first need permission which only a forum moderator or a forum administrator can grant you.
***************************************************************************
Whaddayamean "SOME" forums are set up to allow only..." Virtually every thread on here is "X'd" out as "No Forum Access" until I "get permission" by a forum moderator???

Well what (tf) do I have to do to get that permission?

This is not a "forum".  This is like being back at Edward Jones where I needed to ask some imbecile FSD or GP at the home office if I could draw a smilie face on that letter I was mailing out.

SERIOUSLY???

Well, juck, you certainly have made a good first impression.

You need 10 posts to access the entire forum. We'll all help you by asking you questions. Are you Series 7 licensed? Tell us about yourself.

Post 10 times, legitimately, and you can be given full access upon moderator approval.

But somebody just doesn't get it...  I'm NOT out to be Spiffy, the irrepressible Jonesturbator from RR Forum.  I do NOT want to post 19 times per day in some attempt at self validation.  In fact, I had a specific goal at RR forums to have only about 2% as many posts as Spiff.  I actually try to post info that is potentially helpful rather than being a hairy-palmed self aggrandizing Jonesturbator.

That being said, there's #4.

Primo, I'm ok with myself. Just in case you are wondering, I will confirm "No, I am not a MENSA member".  Furthermore, I'm not the smartest or best FA in the land.  There's a lot smarter folks than me out there.  So?  I'm OK. OK?

Not sure what you're talking about.  Naaah, not a hater.

Were you Sportsfreak Bob at RR forums?  You ride motorcycles?  (Just trying to remember some old RR posts)

OOPs, OK guys, ***NOW*** I see the infamous "New members please read" thread.  Gee, nobody has ever asked me to bring the potato salad to the MENSA picnic.

OK, Series 7 24 63 66. Indy now 2y. Was with some regional-turned-wire (just transpose the first consonants of my first and last names) wayyyy too friggin long before livin the indy dream.

Juck, in all seriousness, we do this to prevent trolls and spammers and the like. We've built something pretty cool here, and forcing new members to make 10 legitimate posts helps ensure we have REAL members that are here to contribute and have fun.

Virtually all of us came over from RRep at one time or another (many of us were here from the start...what is it 2+ years ago now?).

So, two more and you're in!

Posted By: Juck Phones
Date Posted: Mar/01/2012 at 9:22pm
Yeah B24, I'm seeing a lot of the same names.  I dropped off RR 2y ago when I went indy. Checked back in there recently and wondered why no one had turned off the lights when they left.  Seemed quiet, then I saw reference to this site.  The 10 post hurdle is definitely a good idea to prevent the spammers.

The forum is setup that way in part to keep spambots out.  They don't have access, because they can't read the rules.

It's also that way to show any regulators that show up, that we're doing our best to keep our discussions in the "investment" forums, away from the non-licensed public.

Hey everyone. 7 & 66 Licensed as well as Life. New to being an FA (6mos of production) and was an accountant (8yrs) before.

When it comes down to it, the job is about "finding the money." And with these high training goals, where do you find the easy $ to cover these hurdles? So heres what I want to uncover from this site:

1. How do you best market yourself if you don't come from an extensive home network?
2. How do you market for and what is the system for obtaining High Net Worth clients?
3. How do you market yourself within your branch?
3A. How do you show your fellow colleagues you have work ethic so they feel comfortable transfering accounts to you? And not just "dead" accounts.
4. What value can your Branch Manager "really bring."?
4A. If their job is based on your results and you don't have any, how can you get them to invest in your business?
4B. If your BM used to be a producer, and is no longer, what does that track record say about their ability to manage FA trainees? Can they truly critique business plans if they never ran a succesful advisory practice?

Thanks and I look forward to everyones responses.

Ben - you can post this in one TOPIC area, and everyone will see it. No need to multiple post the same thing in more than one topic. Just trying to save you the trouble. Everyone comes here and clicks on 'new posts" and sees all the posts put up since their last logon.

Thanks sports freak. I didn't know I could post that message in that forum. For some reason these were the only
2 areas that I was able to gain access too. Plus I needed 10 posts, so figure I'd kill 2birds with
1 stone.

Btw sports freak, who are your teams??

Jets, Mets, Knicks. I only root for losers. I wouldn't have it any other way. My biggest nightmare is the Jets getting to the Superbowl. I would have to become a Giants fan Cry
