I'm in the interview process for a Financial Adviser position. I am speaking with a Financial Adviser in a couple of days to find out a little more about the training process and the ups/downs of being a FA. Any specific questions I can ask to get a better understanding of the position would be great! As well as any information anyone can give me about the start-up process of the FA position. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum.  I have nothing to offer you, but sure others will.  I will restrict your access to this board since you are not currently registered.  If that changes, PM me.

It would be easier to answer your question if you could give a hint at the nature of the firm that is thinking of hiring you.

Hey guys, isn't there an Edward Jones thread that talks about this somewhere?  If not, I'll create something and people can add on.

He means you don't have your s7 yet.  It is a requirement for much of the forum.  YOu can post in this part without it.  That is what he meant.

You can also post in some of the other areas.

If you notice your title says "Wants to be an FA".  Much of the site is restricted to protect members.  You will be entitled to that protection as well, once you are licensed.

Kakuta, I've been a RR since 92. Do yourself a HUGE favor, and make for 100% sure this biz is for you. Really do your homework, and make sure you have the skills, salesmanship, and various traits that make for a good advisor. This has always been a tough business to crack into, but right now might even be tougher than usual. Most people that leave the business, could have known before they ever got hired, why this business was not for them.
