Just wanted to introduce myself. I am restarting my business out west after a move from midwest. Been in the business for 10 years, a former Jones Rep now Independent. Series 7, 24. Spend most of my day prospecting for new business.

WHy did you move? Did you still have clients in the old place(midwest)? Or are you restarting after a 3 year break?

There were a lot of reasons for the move, but mostly because I wanted to own the business myself and also after trying to relocate multiple times to an office in an area that I actually wanted to live in, I decided that I had to get out and do it on my own. I still have my clients back in the midwest, looking for new ones out west now. I guess I am not technically restarting, as I never really left the business, but it feels like it on most days as I spend most of my time prospecting.

Pretty much the same way. I used to cold call residents, then follow with a doorknock. Now I cold call businesses, and follow with a doorknock. I will drop off info on my company, and a business retirment brochure. Then follow up and try to schedule an appointment.
